May 25, 2023

Agtegra Cooperative has awarded scholarships to 10 high school seniors and two college students for the 2023-2024 school year.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to further the advancement of the agricultural industry and the cooperative system through education while promoting academic excellence.

High school senior recipients will each receive $500 to be used toward a full-time undergraduate agricultural degree program at a 2- or 4-year postsecondary institution located in South Dakota or North Dakota.

Two students from each of Agtegra’s regions were selected from a competitive pool of applications. Those recipients include:

South Region:
  • Benjamin Zwart: Colman, South Dakota
  • Taylor Even: Burke, South Dakota
East Region:
  • Ethan Boekelheide: Northville, South Dakota
  • Carly Olson: Ortonville, Minnesota
West Region:
  • Gavin Lynch: McLaughlin, South Dakota
  • Reese Voorhees: Onida, South Dakota
Central Region:
  • Paul Moening: Lakeville, Minnesota
  • Emily Robbins: Aurora, South Dakota
North Region:
  • Samantha Meehl: Oakes, North Dakota
  • Shaydin Ell: Mandan, North Dakota
Last year, Agtegra started a collegiate division of the scholarship program with plans to award one $1,000 scholarship to a current college student pursuing an agricultural degree at a 2- or 4-year college in North or South Dakota. Due to the large quantity of exceptional applicants, the committee decided to award two scholarships this year.

Collegiate recipients include the following:
  • Kathryn Rausch, Hoven, South Dakota: South Dakota State University, Agricultural Education and Agricultural Science
  • Zoey Schentzel, Farmington, Minnesota: South Dakota State University, Agricultural Communications
The scholarship program aims to reward passionate, driven and future-oriented leaders who are willing to meet the high demand of the agriculture industry.

“Investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders is important to our industry’s sustainability,” says Jason Klootwyk, Agtegra CEO. “We are excited to offer scholarships to these students as they pursue their passions in agriculture and seek to play a role in feeding the world.”

Agtegra’s 2024 scholarship application will become available in fall 2023 at https://www.agtegra.com/our-communities/scholarships
